About
Chrissie completed her sociology PhD at the University of Essex and her postdoctoral fellowship at Cambridge University, both of which were funded by the ESRC. After this she held lectureships at Keele and Brunel Universities. She is author of 'Parenting and Inclusive Education, (2007) and is working on Intellectual Disability and Social Theory: Sociological and Philosophical Debates on Being Human (Rogers, forthcoming) and Critical Approaches to Care: understanding caring relations, identities and cultures, (Rogers and Weller, forthcoming) [eds] with Routledge. Chrissie has published in the British Journal of Sociology of Education, British Journal of Special Education, Auto/Biography, Disability and Society, and Sexualities. Chrissie is on the editorial board of British Journal of Sociology of Education and is a member of the BSA, ESA and nasen and was an associate board member for Sociology 2006-2008.
